Erlandsson hits form in Czech Republic

Sweden’s Martin Erlandsson had 10 birdies, six of them in a row, in the third round of the European Tour’s Moravia Silesia Open in the Czech Republic today.

If the rest of his card had been bogey-free Erlandsson, who made the cut with nothing to spare at one over par, would have charged all the way into the lead.

However, two bogeys and a double bogey kept him down to a six under 66 at the Miguel Angel Jimenez-designed Prosper Resort in Celadna and so the 35-year-old was joint 10th and three behind England’s Graeme Storm and Steve Webster as they teed off again.

The Tour record for birdies in a row is 12 set by American Fred Couples in 1991 and matched since by Ernie Els, Russell Claydon and Darren Clarke.
