Scotsman Callum Macaulay was an early mover on the Madeira Islands Open BPI-Portugal leaderboard with four birdies and an eagle after 16 holes of the third round.

Having posted two three-over-par 74s, the 25-year-old found some form today on Porto Santo to move to two over for the tournament, with bogeys on four and 16 preventing further progress.

Macaulay was still some way behind the leader, though, with Ireland's Michael Hoey resuming on seven under, closely followed by Michael McGeady, Joakim Haeggman and Estanislao Goya, all one shot back.
