McIlroy on the brink
Teenager Rory McIlroy has clung on to 50th place in the world rankings a week before the top 50 qualify for next April’s US Masters.
The 19-year-old missed the halfway cut in the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa and would have dropped to 51st if Matthew Goggin had won rather than lost a play-off for the Australian Open.
