McIlroy two shots off lead in Hong Kong

Ireland's Rory McIlroy is just two shots off the lead at the halfway stage of the Hong Kong Open today.

The Ulsterman carded a second-round 64 today to move onto six under par.

Four golfers currently lead the field on eight under, Oliver Fisher, Louis Oosthuizen, Chawalit Plaphol and Oliver Wilson.

Of the other Irish competitors, Gareth Maybin reached the halfway stage on two under par, Graeme McDowell on one under par and Paul McGinley on level par.

All three have survived the cut to secure a place in the second half of the tournament.
