Woods and Harrington confirmed for JP McManus Pro-Am

JP McManus confirmed this afternoon that Tiger Woods and Padraig Harrington will be participating in the Pro-Am Invitational in Adare in 2010.

The event - which is held every five years - raised over €55 million for charity in 2005.

McManus said the fact that such star players are keen to come to Limerick helped hugely in terms of the event being a success.

Speaking at today’s launch, Harrington agreed that the event always had an enjoyable atmosphere, “a lot more so than when we play competitive golf when we're so cautious and worried about making mistakes.”

“The benefit that we can come here and raise money for charity is tremendous for us,” the three-time major winner said.

“Obviously golfers are paid very well and our remuneration is way ahead of what we deserve, but it's nice that we can give something back.”
