Caldwell and Hoey faring well at European Tour Qualifying

Several Irish players are in strong positions after the penultimate round of the European Tour Qualifying School in Girona.

Ulstermen Jonathan Caldwell and Michael Hoey are in a group tied for 15th position on eight under par - 10 off the lead, in Spain.

Michael McGeady ended the day tied for 30th, on five below, with Simon Thornton down the field on one over.

Only the top 30 and ties earn a European Tour card for the new season.
