Free entry for fans to European Open
Golf fans will be able to enjoy the first day’s play in this year’s European Open at The London Club in Kent free of charge.
Following the success of a similar initiative in 2006 and 2007 when the event was played at The K Club in Ireland, the same policy is being adopted for July 3 when Colin Montgomerie launches his defence of the title.
Montgomerie said: “I am looking forward to defending one of the most prestigious titles on the European Tour and it is great news that spectators can watch the opening day free of charge.
“It’s nice that we have a venue with London in the title and I am sure that golf fans in and around the capital will come along and support us.”
Entry for under-16s is free all week providing they are accompanied by an adult and all public parking is also free.
