Brown proud of February award

New Zealander Mark Brown has today been named February's European Tour golfer of the month after claiming his maiden title in India.

The 33-year-old won the Johnnie Walker Classic in New Delhi on Sunday, a week after recording his first victory on the Asian Tour at the Sail Open in the same country.

As a result, he rose to a career-high 64th in the world rankings after starting the year 322nd.

"This is a fantastic award and I am very proud," he said.

"The first win was special as it was my first on tour but the second, against a field as strong as the European Tour, was incredible.

"It has opened a few doors to me so I am looking forward to some new opportunities in the future."
