Belfast’s Johnny Caldwell got his final season under way as a University of South Alabama Jaguar with a top-25 finish as the University of Florida’s Sun Trust Gator Invitational.

Caldwell, a member of the GB & Ireland Walker Cup squad at Royal County Down last autumn, graduates this summer and he helped South Alabama begin its spring campaign with a fifth place team finish in a strong field.
