Tour silent on lucrative event

The European Tour have declined to comment on reports that it will stage the richest tournament in the game’s history in 2009.

A report in today’s Guardian claims the event will be staged in Dubai at the end of the 2009 season and carry a total prize fund of £9.9m (€14m).
