Scott Verplank fired a second consecutive bogey-free six-under-par 66 today to open up a one-stroke lead at the midway point of the Children’s Miracle Network Classic in Florida.

Starting on the back nine at the Magnolia course, Verplank carded six birdies on his first nine holes to move onto 12-under-par overall and a shot ahead of Canada’s Stephen Ames and American duo Ryan Armour and Tag Ridings.
