Seve Trophy gets underway today in Laois

The biennial Seve Trophy gets under way this morning at the Heritage course in Co Laois.

Nick Faldo's Britain and Ireland team will be out to defend their title against Continental Europe, captained by Seve Ballesteros.

The first day of the event is likely to be overshadowed by Paul McGinley's resignation from his vice captain role at next year's Ryder Cup.
