Lyons edges out Horgan in South of Ireland
West of Ireland champion Joe Lyons edged out Monkstown's Shane Horgan by one hole to reach Wednesday's sem-finals of the South of Ireland championship.
Having knocked out the defending champion Simon Ward 2 and 1, the Offalyman will face Castletroy's Stephen Moloney following his 4 and 3 victory over Limerick's Cian McNamara.
In the other semi-final, Dunmurry's Darren Crowe will be bidding to reach the decider for the third year in a row following his 3 and 2 win over the Island's Brendan Walton.
Beaten in the last two finals, Crowe will face Royal Dublin's Niall Kearney, who was a 3 and 2 winner over Westport's Cathal O'Malley.
