Padraig Harrington has reached his highest-ever position in the world rankings after winning the Open Championship at Carnoustie yesterday.

The 35-year-old Dubliner is now sixth in the rankings and top of the European Order of Merit.

Harrington also reached sixth place in 2005 following his first victory on the US Tour.
