Park still in top spot
Brazilian teenager Angela Park retained her lead when the opening round of the United States Women’s Open was completed on Friday morning.
Park carded a three-under-par 68 on Thursday, while half the field – 78 players - did not complete the round due to a long afternoon weather delay at Pine Needles.
Play resumed on Friday morning, with American In-Bee Park and Japan’s Shiho Oyama posting scores of 69 to share second place.
Defending champion Annika Sorenstam also had a good morning, joining a large group of players just two shots off the lead.
