Nightmare start for home favourite Remesy

Home favourite Jean-Francois Remesy endured a nightmare opening round in the St Omer Open today.

He shot a disappointing 75 to languish in 82nd place after a four over par round.

Englishman Stuart Davis narrowly missed out on a share of the clubhouse lead after completing his round.

The Challenge Tour player shot five birdies and two bogeys en route to a first round, three-under 68 in northern France.

Davis had been among the leading pack until a bogey at the par-four 18th saw him slip to joint-seventh alongside fellow Englishman Daniel Dennison, who had four holes to play.

Spaniard Santiago Luna had held a one-stroke outright lead until dropping a shot on his last hole to be joined by countryman Carl Suneson, Dane Anders Schmidt Hansen and France's Michael Lorenzo-Vera who were all four-under after completing their rounds.
