Pair share lead in Ladies Swiss Open

Germany’s Bettina Hauert and Italy’s Federique Piovano share the lead on three under par after the second round of the Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open at Golf Gerre Losone.

Hauert, who was one of four players tied at the top overnight, carded a one-over 73 as her rivals fell away.

Piovano, a 25-year-old from Rome, had reached six under par after 10 holes but made double bogey at the par-three 11th after finding water and dropped a further shot at the last to fall back alongside Hauert.

The pair are one clear of Switzerland’s Frederique Seeholzer, one of the overnight leaders, who shot 74, and England’s Lora Fairclough, who had a 73.

Wales’ Eleanor Pilgrim squandered her share of the overnight lead with a 75 to finish the day one under alongside Australia’s Shani Waugh (73) and New Zealand’s Liz McKinnon (73).

Australian Nikki Garrett, the fourth overnight co-leader, slipped back into a share of 17th on one over after a 77.
