The Dubliner carded a four-under-par 68 to reach the halfway stage on three under, one shot adrift of overnight leader Peter Hanson, who is due to tee off this afternoon.

Elsewhere, Paul McGinley will tee off later from level par, while John Dwyer will start his second round on one over par.

David Higgins, meanwhile, picked up one shot in his opening 11 holes today to move to two over par, while Gary Murphy will tee off from the same score at 1.30pm.
