Ronaldo turns to golf
Brazilian World Cup winner Ronaldo, unable to play for AC Milan against Manchester United because he is cup-tied, will still be seen in action next Wednesday – playing golf.
The former Real Madrid striker and Roberto Donadoni, head coach of the Italian national team, are two of the celebrities lined up to compete in the pro-am on the eve of the Telecom Italian Open at Castello di Tolcinasco just south of Milan.
“Obviously I would love to be playing against Manchester United as it will be a great game and a great occasion at the San Siro but I am equally looking forward to competing in the pro-am,” he said.
“I have played golf for a number of years now and I thoroughly enjoy the game and am trying hard to improve.”
Last year’s Ryder Cup captains Ian Woosnam and Tom Lehman head the golfing line-up.
