Adam Scott's victory in the Houston Open has moved the Australian back to third in the official world rankings.

Scott carded a final-round 66 for a three-stroke victory over compatriot Stuart Appleby who is 19th in the standings.

Spain's Pablo Martin, who became the first amateur to win on the European Tour with a one-shot victory in the Portuguese Open, jumps to 280th after previously being unranked.

Ireland's Padraig Harrington remains in 10th.
