Liang makes grand gesture
China’s Liang Wen-Chong made a grand gesture after winning the Clariden Leu Singapore Masters, pledging to donate his prize money from the event to the development of golf in his country.
The 28-year-old picked up a cheque for $183,330 (€139,650) yesterday after defeating Iain Steel of Malaysia in a sudden-death play-off to win the tournament at Laguna National Golf and Country Club, which was co-sanctioned by the European and Asian Tours.
