Liang Wen-Chong parred the first extra hole of a play-off to defeat Iain Steel of Malaysia at Laguna National Golf and Country Club today to win the Clariden Leu Singapore Masters.

After an afternoon which saw all of the leaders struggling through the closing holes, the 28-year-old Chinese player claimed the title in the joint-sanctioned event after Steel teed off into the water at the first extra hole en route to a double bogey.
