Archer leads the way

Philip Archer shot a superb nine under par 63 to lead the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship by three shots at the end of the opening round.

The Englishman reached a career high 41st on the European Tour Order of Merit last season and was in fine form as he carded an impressive 10 birdies and just one bogey to surge to the top of the leaderboard.
