Coughlan two off the pace in Italy

Ireland's Curtis Cup star Claire Coughlan from Cork fired a 70 & 71 to lie two just shots behind the leaders at the halfway point of Ladies European Tour pre-qualifying school at Le Fonti golf club in Italy, which runs until tomorrow.

International teammate Martina Gillen (Beaverstown) is just two shots further back after rounds of 71 and 72.

With just two rounds to go, both are in great positions to finish in the top 43 (from 95 hopefuls) which will secure their place in the Final Qualifying School (22-26th November) at La Cala Resort, Malaga.

The top 25 players at La Cala Resort will then obtain full playing privileges for the 2007 Ladies European Tour.
