Scott recovers to take back lead
Adam Scott saved par at the final hole to take a three-shot lead into the final day of the PGA Tour season-ending Tour Championship today.
The Australian, without a win in his last 35 starts on the Tour, jumped clear with an eagle at the par-five 15th on his way to a three-under-par 67 in today's third round at East Lake.
Scott was on seven under, with Vijay Singh (65) and Joe Durant (70) tied for second at four under.
Jim Furyk (67) and Retief Goosen (68) were another shot back in a tie for fourth.
Scott and Durant started the day tied for the lead, before the former birdied the first hole to move ahead.
The Australian's lead grew to two shots when Durant bogeyed the third.
But Durant birdied eight and nine to tie at the turn and went ahead with another birdie at the 12th.
Scott answered the challenge with a five-foot birdie at the 14th, before making eagle at the next - where he appeared to mishit his second shot only to watch in delight as it trickled up to within two feet of the cup.
