Harrington moving up leaderboard at Volvo Masters
Ireland's Padraig Harrington is moving up the leaderboard at the Volvo Masters in Valderrama today as he seeks to secure his first Order of Merit title.
The Dubliner finished up yesterday in a tie for 30th place on two over par, seven shots adrift of overnight leader Jose Manuel Lara.
However, he picked up two shots in his opening 17 holes today to move to level par and a tie for 16th place.
Harrington needs a top-three finish to overtake England’s Paul Casey at the top of the earnings table.
Casey, who is suffering from a stomach bug, dropped a shot today to fall back to six over par.
Elsewhere, the other two Order of Merit contenders are also struggling today.
David Howell and Robert Karlsson, who both need to finish first or second, have dropped a shot each in their first 10 holes.
Howell is now tied for 16th on level par, while Karlsson is in 12th on one under par.
