Arnold Palmer plans to retire

Arnold Palmer, one of the greatest players to ever set foot on a course, announced on Friday that he plans to retire from tournament golf.

The winner of seven major championships and five more as a senior, Palmer has not won an event since 1988 and has not contended seriously in years.
