Fans defy bad weather forecasts

The forecast of more bad weather failed to discourage thousands of spectators from arriving at the K Club for the final day of practice for the Ryder Cup today.

Winds gusting to more than 40mph saw fans initially prevented from travelling to and entering the course amid fears for their safety yesterday, with several trees brought down around the Palmer Course.
