Tour double for Lagoutte

France’s Virginie Lagoutte won her second European Tour title with a final-round four-under-par 67 in the Finnair Masters in Helsinki.

Lagoutte, one shot clear at the start of the final round, fired two early birdies and added four more for a 10-under 203 total and a two-shot win over Sweden’s Elin Ohlsson.

American Kris Lindstrom shot 71 and France’s Gwladys Nocera had a 68 as they tied for third place on five under par.

Laura Davies, a winner in Norway the week before, could not manage back-to-back wins and a closing 71 left her 10 shots behind the winner and in joint 11th place on level par.

But she remained at the top of the New Star money list, £18,000 ahead of Nocera.

Denmark’s Mianne Bagger had started the final round in joint second place and a shot behind Lagoutte.

But the second-year professional showed her nerves in her bid for a first Tour victory. The 39-year-old Dane, whose best result was seventh in Hungary in July, slumped to a 77 and fell back into a tie for 15th.
