Swede Mathias Gronberg moved into contention for a first US Tour victory when he produced a third-round 65 at the Buick Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut, today.

While compatriot Carl Pettersson fell out of the running with a three-over-par 73, former European Open winner Gronberg had six birdies to improve from 43rd to joint eighth.
