Higgins three off the lead starting day three in Austria
Waterville golfer David Higgins is the best-placed Irishman heading into day three of the Austrian Open.
He is on seven under par, three shots off the lead jointly held by Austrian Markus Brier and England's Simon Dyson on 10-under.
Gary Emerson and Miguel Angel Jimenez were tied for third on -8, while Higgins was joint fifth with four others including Colin Montgomerie.
The Kerryman followed his opening round of 67 with a 68 yesterday at the BC-CA at Fontana near Vienna.
Meanwhile, Kilkenny’s Gary Murphy was on -4, with Stephen Browne two under and Paul McGinley one over par.
