Donald and Davis pull out

English duo Luke Donald and Brian Davis have both pulled out of the rain-interrupted Wachovia Championship in Charlotte before the completion of their second rounds.

Ryder Cup star Donald still had four holes to play when a thunderstorm forced the players off and was right on the cut line at two over.

However, he was obviously not happy with his game after a double-bogey six and three other bogeys, with two birdies failing to lighten his mood.

Davis, starting at the 10th, fared even worse yesterday with back-to-back bogeys and then two double bogeys (a six and five) in succession as he completed nine holes in a six-over-par 42 to be 10 over with no hope of making the cut.
