Rankings leap for Oberholser
American Arron Oberholser has moved up from 80th to 41st in the world rankings following his maiden US Tour victory in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-am.
It gives the 31-year-old a place in next week’s 64-man Accenture world match championship in San Diego and if he can stay in the world’s top 50 through to the end of next month he will also play the Masters at Augusta in April for the first time.
Even without playing last week Ernie Els has made his first move back up the rankings since his knee surgery last year.
Phil Mickelson’s closing 77 at Pebble Beach, where he was the defending champion, drops him to fifth and lifts Els to fourth.
