Cink sees both sides

Tiger Woods’ comments about there being acts of gamesmanship in the Ryder Cup have been backed up by team-mate Stewart Cink.

Tiger Woods’ comments about there being acts of gamesmanship in the Ryder Cup have been backed up by team-mate Stewart Cink.

But Cink, competing for America in the World Cup in Portugal this week, disagrees with the world number one’s overall opinion of the Ryder Cup.

Woods said in China last week that the President's Cup was more fun because it was the friendlier of the two competitions.

Cink commented: “I have seen some gamesmanship in both tournaments and I have seen a lot of friendships too.

“Maybe somebody playing against Tiger Woods pulled a few more things out of their sleeve or something along the way, but to me both events are more friendship when you get between the ropes and in the matches than they are about gamesmanship and attitudes.

“I don’t have a preference. They are both excellent and, as far as I can tell from playing in two of each, they are both equal as far as intensity too.”
