Presidents Cup put back

Changes to the PGA Tour which come into force in 2007 have resulted in the Presidents Cup being put back a week.

The biennial match between the USA and the International team (excluding Europe) has been moved to the week beginning September 24 at The Royal Montreal Golf Club in Canada.

That is to allow more time between the finale of the new FedEx Cup competition at the season-ending Tour Championship (which concludes September 16) and the seventh staging of the Presidents Cup.

It has not yet been announced how the PGA Tour changes will affect the Ryder Cup, which is held every September in the years either side of the Presidents Cup.
