The Irish Youths team beat Scotland in the Youth International at Portumna Golf Club in Co Galway today.

The Irish Youths team beat Scotland in the Youth International at Portumna Golf Club in Co Galway today.

Ireland enjoyed better fortunes in the singles than the foursomes at Portumna.

In the foursomes Rory McIlroy & Aaron O’Callaghan lost to Wallace Booth & Paul O’Hara 4 and 3;

Keith Crowley & Gareth Shaw lost to Kevin McAlpine & Keir McNicoll 4 and 2. Cian McNamara

& Nicky Grant did win for Ireland, beating Scott Henry & Jordan Findlay 3 and 2.

In the Singles teen sensation Rory McIlroy beat Keir McNicoll 4/3; Aaron O’Callaghan halved with Wallace Booth; Nicky Grant beat Jordan Findlay 5/4; Keith Crowley lost to Kevin McAlpine 2/1; Gareth Shaw beat Scott Henry 4/3 and Cian McNamara beat Paul O’Hara 2/1.
