Stadler's record round puts him in contention
Craig Stadler’s record-tying round put him back into the hunt for the Blue Angels Classic in Florida, part of the Champions Tour.
‘The Walrus’ fired a 10-under-par 60 on day two to vault from a tie for 45th to third – two shots out of the lead.
Jim Thorpe carded a 64 to sit on top of the leaderboard at 13 under on 127.
Mike Sullivan and Ireland’s Des Smyth, who has won twice on the seniors Tour this season, each signed for 63s.
Sullivan is in a group of six golfers tied for fifth at nine under but Smyth was recovering from an opening 73.
