Former Open champion Paul Lawrie will take a one-shot lead into today’s final round of the Portuguese Open.

Six players were forced to complete their third rounds this morning after three delays for torrential rain on Saturday.

England’s Barry Lane parred his three remaining holes to finish a shot behind Lawrie on 10 under par, while Portugal’s Jose-Filipe Lima birdied the 16th to claim a share of second place.

Paul Broadhurst also completed his round with three pars to lie a shot further back on nine under.

The leaders will tee off at 11.40am with Lawrie, ranked a lowly 346th in the world, looking for his first tour victory since the 2002 Wales Open.
