England’s Mark Foster and Scot Simon Yates overcame jet-lag to make bright starts to the Volvo China Open – first event of the new European Tour season - in Shanghai today.

Two-under-par rounds of 70 in a testing wind put the pair only one shot behind early clubhouse leaders Mads Vibe-Hastrup, from Denmark, South Korean Joon Chung and Filipino Angelo Que.
