World number three Vijay Singh cancelled a planned press conference on the eve of the Open today because he was feeling unwell.

Singh, described in a British Open guide as “perhaps the most famous Fijian person ever”, was joint runner-up at Sandwich last year, his best finish in 15 attempts to win the Open.
