Curtis to play in Volvo PGA C'ship

British Open champion Ben Curtis is to play in the Volvo PGA Championship at Wentworth on May 27-30.

It will be the American’s second appearance over the West Course. He reached the semi-finals of the HSBC World Match Play Championship last October.

Curtis took up membership of the European tour following his remarkable victory at Sandwich last summer – the first major championship appearance of his career.

“I love coming over to Britain and I am looking forward to returning to Wentworth,” he said. “It’s a great test and I love the challenge it presents. Every hole demands your complete attention.
