England’s Barry Lane, playing his 499th European tour event and without a win for 10 years, jumped into a two-stroke lead in the final round of the Daily Telegraph Damovo British Masters at the Forest of Arden today.

Resuming one behind Paul Broadhurst, 43-year-old Lane birdied the third and fifth and then chipped in from 50 feet at the long seventh for an eagle that took him to 14 under par.

Broadhurst shared second spot with Argentinians Angel Cabrera and Eduardo Romero, at 49 trying to become the oldest winner in tour history.
