O'Hara soars up leaderboard

Steven O’Hara showed fellow Scot Alastair Forsyth what he was missing with a charge through the field at the Seville Open today.

O’Hara was level par and joint 51st at halfway, but an eagle at the fifth and birdies at the second and seventh took him to the turn in 32 and at four under he was all the way up to 17th.

Forsyth, meanwhile, was back at home after thinking he was sure to miss the halfway cut when he finished yesterday and deciding to take a flight to Gatwick.

High winds sent the scores soaring after he left, however, and the cut mark went from one under to one over.

But there no flights which would have got Forsyth back in time for his third round, his clubs were booked through to Glasgow, and he withdrew.
