McGinley keeps in contention in Malaysia
Ireland’s Paul McGinley is just one shot off the lead at the Carlsberg Malaysian Open this morning.
McGinley played an impressive front nine at the testing Saujana Golf and Country Club and at one point held the outright lead after three birdies in four holes elevated him onto seven under par.
But a bogey on the par-four ninth slipped him back onto six under and level with South African Martin Maritz, one of the three overnight leaders.
He finished six under after a round of 70, one shot off the pace set by Sung-man Lee of Korea, Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand and Anthony Kang of the US.
Padraig Harrington is joint 38th after shooting a 74 to finish one under.
