Bjorn disappoints in front of home crowd

Home favourite Thomas Bjorn is having a bad run at the Nordic Open.

There was disappointment for the large crowd following Bjorn when the Open runner-up bogeyed the 14th, but he hit back with a birdie on the 16th, one of four holes in a row he birdied to end his round last night.

At five under par he was still five off the lead however, Archer joining Jacquelin at the top of the leaderboard when he made it a hat-trick of birdies on the fourth.

The duo were one ahead of Bickerton and Gilford who were both nine under par after nine holes.

Bjorn failed to birdie the par-five 17th and had to settle for a birdie on the 18th when his 15 foot eagle putt failed to drop.

The 32-year-old birdied the first as well and at seven under par was still well in the hunt for what would be a hugely popular victory in the first European Tour event staged in Denmark.

Bjorn was four shots off the lead now held by Archer, who birdied the seventh to move to 11 under par and one ahead of Jacquelin, Gilford and Raitt.
