Scotland’s Raymond Russell today failed in his bid to set on a unique scoring record in the inaugural Nordic Open.

Russell birdied the final six holes of his first round on Thursday evening to card an opening 65 in Copenhagen, three shots behind France’s Raphael Jacquelin who fired a course-record 62.
