Peter Lawrie is the best of the Irish going into the final round of the Nissan Irish Open at Portmarnock.

At one stage Lawrie was 10 under par thanks to four birdies in his first 13 holes of the day.

But from there, Lawrie bogeyed at 14, 16 and 18 to finish seven under par, three behind the lead, in joint seventh with Peter Hedlom.

Kilkenny's Gary Murphy shot a two-under-par 70 to go four under and Darren Clarke recovered well and is in the clubhouse at one under.

However, a disastrous 76 saw Paul McGinley drop to level par, a similar round for Damien McGrane saw him finish at two over, with Damien Mooney three over.
