Clarke claws back a shot

Darren Clarke had to be content with a minor move forward rather than a charge when he began his third round in the Nissan Irish Open at Portmarnock today.

While pre-tournament favourite Padraig Harrington had missed the halfway cut, Clarke had played his last nine holes in 33 yesterday to make it through with a stroke to spare.
