McGinley gets belated USPGA invitation

Paul McGinley’s name has been added to the field for next month’s United States PGA championship after it was pointed out to the organisers that he was the only player from last September’s Ryder Cup not invited.

McGinley was, of course, the match-winner at The Belfry, but although he has subsequently dropped to 145th in the world the PGA of America agreed to offer him a place at Oak Hill in Rochester, New York, so that all 24 players would be on view.
