Denmark’s Thomas Bjorn received a two-shot penalty for an unusual incident during his first-round 73 in the Open.

Bjorn was two under par after 16 holes at Royal St George’s, one shot off the lead held by South African Hennie Otto, when he hit his approach into a greenside bunker on the 17th.
